Lace

By: Amberly Asay

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, was a pioneer of the new lace style.  She loved lace overlays, lace pants, and her wedding dress was crafted of a beautiful lace.  This simple yet elegant trend has spread from royalty to the everyday person. It has traveled from the land of the British and landed on American soil.

Fashion Week in New York this Spring featured lace as a significant element of this year's trending designs. Every designer had at least one lace piece, and many had all-lace lines.  Lace adds a feminine and delicate look to any wardrobe, and it is super light and comfortable to wear.

The runways saw an unprecedented number of unique uses of lace in modern style.  Light flowy shirts, vests and skirts are being made out of lace.  It is also covering shoes and handbags!  You name it, it is probably there.  It is also coming in various colors.  Of course you get your classic whites and off-whites, but emerald green and coral laces are huge this spring season.
