Hipster Owl Glasses

By: Amberly Asay

Halloween is almost here, and it is time to find a costume!  For those of us who procrastinated and are trying to throw a costume together before the festivities begin, we have a simple solution. This costume literally takes minutes and is a great conversation starter.

Wear a brown or feathery colored shirt.  Grab some 3D glasses or some hipster glasses.  Get a piece of orange construction paper, and cut out an owl shaped nose. Next, hot glue the nose to your glasses.  Then grab some feathers, and hot glue them to the edges of the glasses.  And bibbity-bobbity-boo!  You have a hipster owl Halloween costume.  If you want to pull off the wise old owl, be sure to carry some books around with you.

Halloween Window Displays

By: Amberly Asay

Halloween is upon us, and Studio 1030 has turned it's windows into a Halloween visual spectacular. The windows were definitely a challenge and fun for us to do.

The front window display was really fun.  We took more of a witch/apothecary/wizard of Oz/Emerald City type of look.  We had a lot of fun spray painting goblets and bugs with gold and this mystical blue color.  We had a lot of fun deciding what would be in a witch's liar, specifically a beautiful witch. We have learned those do exist.  You can see makeup brushes accompanying her magic potions and surrounded by her crows.

The side window was also a really fun window.  We made curtains out of black lace and filled the window with some flowers.  The most fun and difficult part of the window was finding a chandelier. Those are hard to find, especially ones that you can break.  We did find one, which we lightly covered in black spray paint and broke and put inside our window.  There are also several broken mirrors floating around.

Let us know what you think and if you have any ideas for windows, tell us by commenting below!
